The 5-step claim process

  1. Free inspection

We document damage with dated photos and test squares.

  2. File your claim

You call your carrier. We give you the report to send.

  3. Adjuster meeting

We meet the adjuster on your roof and point out every hit.

  4. Install day

Tear-off, deck repair and new roof, usually in one day.

  5. Final paperwork

Photos, invoice and warranty go to you and your carrier.

What you'll pay

On an approved claim, your out-of-pocket cost is normally your deductible plus any upgrades you choose. Texas law prohibits roofers from waiving, rebating or "covering" that deductible, and it requires that contractors who are paid with insurance proceeds provide a written contract with certain disclosures. We follow it to the letter.

Upgrading to Class 4 impact shingles during a claim is often a small additional cost, and many Texas carriers offer a premium discount for Class 4 roofs.

How soon after a hail storm should I get an inspection?

As soon as practical. Most Texas homeowner policies require prompt notice, and claim deadlines are often one to two years from the storm date. Check your policy.

Can you waive my deductible?

No. Texas law (Business & Commerce Code §27.02) makes it illegal for a roofer to waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible. Be wary of any contractor who offers to.

What if the adjuster denies the claim?

We can request a re-inspection and provide our documentation. Some denials are reversed once the adjuster sees the test squares in person.

What is recoverable depreciation?

Many replacement-cost policies pay the actual cash value first, then release the withheld depreciation after the work is complete and the final invoice is submitted. We send your carrier the final invoice and photos.

What is a supplement?

If the adjuster's estimate misses required items such as code-required drip edge, decking or additional layers, we submit a supplement with documentation so the scope matches what the job actually needs.
